Choose a new cheap computer system

When you choose a new cheap computer system, I think it's important that you know what parts the computer contains. This will ensure that you get the best value and you will also get exactly the computer parts that you need, so you will not buy parts that are not essential to your computer system. If you want to build your own computer, it is imperative that you know some things about the parts that are in you cheap computer system, so that you will know exactly which parts that are compatible with your computer system. When it comes to choosing a cheap computer system, there are several things to consider:
  1. What is the speed of the processor run?
  2. *The AMD Athlon processors have a lower clock frequency than their Intel counterparts. Do not let this fool you. AMD has found other areas than the clock frequency to make the processor work faster. One of these areas is making the internal memory of the processor bigger. This will remove one of the bottlenecks of the processor. If you want to do a side-by-side processor comparison between AMD and Intel processors, simply divide the number preceded by the XP by 1000, and you will know at what speed its Intel counterpart will work. An example: You have an "AMD Athlon XP2400+" and an Intel Pentium 4 2.2 GHz processor. 2400 divided by 1000 equals 2.4, so you will see that the Athlon processor is the faster of the two processors
  3. How well will the motherboard handle an upgrade?
  4. Try finding a motherboard that has more than 2 RAM slots so that you will be able to add more RAM if you one day choose to upgrade your computer system.
  5. Make sure that the hard drive has enough space for storing your files (documents, mp3, emails, etc.).
  6. Remember that your operating system take up quite a lot of space when it is installed. Do you use Microsoft Office? Do you have large number of mp3's stored on your hard drive? It all adds up, and often quicker than you think.
  7. Choose the size and quality of your monitor carefully.
  8. There are two different types of monitors available today: TFT (also known as LCD) and CRT.
  9. Get enough RAM
  10. RAM (Random Access Memory) is the working memory of your computer, and it is good to have plenty of it.
